Job Summary
Directs, organizes, plans, and assigns all camera department operations including halftone photography, production photography, and photo composition by performing the following duties personally or through assistant personnel. Responsible for the implementation of all departmental policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to camera department personnel.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs, assigns, and monitors the work performed by camera department personnel.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve camera operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Prepares departmental budget and monitors expenditures of budgeted items.
- Responsible for maintaining file of negatives, positives, and prints.
- Determines the correct materials to be used, and requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
- Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
- Reviews technical articles, catalogs, and manuals to select or recommend improvements in camera operations.
- Ensure proper operation of darkroom equipment, requesting maintenance when necessary.
- Makes determination of production procedures for color rotation, halftones, solid-color tones, and color separations.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
