Job Summary

Directs, organizes, plans, and assigns all activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds by performing the following duties personally or through assistant personnel. Responsible for the implementation of all departmental policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to camera department personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs workers engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of budgeted funds.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Studies maintenance and repair schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet maintenance and repair schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate maintenance and repair activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Facility or Engineering Management from four-year college or university; or three to five years of screen printing and/or digital imaging production facility management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong skills in leadership, work planning, and scheduling.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret maintenance periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, contractors, service personnel, and employees.

Mathmatical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical maintenance and repair situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
