HP Introduces DesignJet T1600

HP announces the new HP DesignJet T1600 Plus Edition and HP DesignJet T2600 MFP Plus Edition I Build Connected Printer Series, designed to help architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) enterprises simplify large-format printing workflows while improving productivity, collaboration, and security.

As AEC firms increasingly manage distributed teams and tighter project timelines, the industry continues to face a disconnect between digital design and physical execution. While digital plans evolve rapidly, paper drawings often remain static, creating version mismatches that can lead to errors, delays, rework, and avoidable costs.

Built to help bridge this gap, the new lineup introduces the first HP DesignJet multifunction printer that connects paper drawings directly into HP Build Workspace cloud workflows, helping AEC teams work more collaboratively across physical and digital project environments. With integrated HP Build Workspace connectivity, users can scan, share, manage, and collaborate on drawings through a single connected platform, while QR-linked version control helps ensure teams build with certainty from the right drawing by syncing paper plans with the latest digital drawings.

“The future of large-format printing is connected, intelligent, and built around how work actually happens today,” said Daniel Martinez, Senior Vice President and Division President, HP Large Format Printing. “With the new HP DesignJet T1600 & T2600 Plus Edition Printer series, we are helping AEC teams work more efficiently and effectively by connecting print workflows with the digital tools they already rely on every day across the office and jobsite.”

The integrated AI-enabled scan-to-vectorize capability can also help save up to 80% of drafting time by converting raster drawings into editable CAD files, accelerating revisions, and streamlining design workflows.

The new printer series also includes HP Click software and HP Click Driver enhancements to simplify PDF printing workflows, enabling users to preview files, detect print errors, and manage print settings through a more intuitive experience.

Designed for busy enterprise environments, both printers feature fast print speeds of up to 180 D-size prints per hour, integrated automatic print stacking for up to 100 pages, dual-roll capabilities on select models, and Adobe PDF Print Engine technology for highly accurate reproduction of complex files.

Security remains a core focus for IT-managed AEC environments, where sensitive project data and distributed teams require robust protection. The new printer series is built with HP Wolf Pro Security, combining secure user authentication, firmware validation, HP Secure Boot, and advanced encryption technologies, including TLS 1.3 and IPsec to help safeguard devices and documents without adding complexity for users.

HP will showcase the new HP DesignJet T1600 Plus Edition and HP DesignJet T2600 MFP Plus Edition I Build Connected Printer Series at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 in Barcelona, where the company will explore how connected workflows can help AEC professionals move work more seamlessly from concept to completion. As projects become increasingly complex and collaborative, HP is continuing to advance the future of work for AEC professionals by helping teams bridge digital intent with physical execution - supporting the work that ultimately becomes part of the world around us.

The HP DesignJet T1600 Plus Edition and T2600 MFP Plus Edition I Build Connected Printer Series will be available from June 22nd 2026. For more information, visit https://www.hp.com/us-en/printers/large-format/designjet-t1600-t2600-plotter-series.html
