MGX Launches New Rigid Vinyl PVC Grade for UV inkjet Presses

FENTON, Mo. – MGX, a specialty substrate manufacturer and coating expert serving the commercial printing industry, is pleased to announce the launch of its new UVI grade of materials, designed specifically for UV inkjet presses.

The new UVI grade and coating technology are engineered to enhance image quality and fortify ink adhesion for printers utilizing UV inkjet presses such as the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1, Konica Minolta AccurioJet 30000, and Komori Impremia IS29. The improved adhesion increases ink durability and mitigates chipping and flaking during trimming and die-cutting.

“Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, MGX is committed to producing materials that are tailored for performance on each individual platform,” said Jeremy Underhill, VP of Sales. “With the addition of our PVC UVI grade, we are giving UV inkjet printers another reliable option for applications that require rigidity, durability, and a professional finished look.”

MGX’s UVI coating will initially be featured in its Rigid Vinyl PVC product offering, providing UV inkjet printers with a range of materials designed for flat applications where strength, durability, and stiffness are important. As MGX continues to expand its UVI line, the coating technology will be introduced across additional specialty substrates in the company’s portfolio, giving UV inkjet printers more options for applications that require enhanced ink adhesion and reliable performance. Rigid Vinyl is commonly used for signage, shelf talkers, tags, door hangers, and other printed pieces that need to withstand handling, use, and environmental demands.

The new UVI grade is now available in both 10 mil and 15 mil gauges.

Key features of MGX Rigid Vinyl PVC include:
