NAPCO Media (www.napco.com), a subsidiary of PRINTING United Alliance (www.printing.org), is a fast-paced B2B media organization serving the printing, retail, and nonprofit industries. We specialize in the creation and cross-channel distribution of exceptional content on print and digital platforms such as newsletters, magazines, podcasts, social media, and events. The position requires a dynamic, detail-oriented person who can multitask. This will require strong organizational, writing, and editorial skills with the ability to write headlines, captions, tweets, posts, and other compelling short text. The candidate should be tech and social media savvy, a quick learner, energetic, and possess the ability to work independently and with a team. Occasional business travel may also be required.
The job is writing-intensive, so a strong grasp of spelling and grammar is necessary. Applicants should be skilled writers since the position requires both original composition and content revision. Knowledge of AP style is preferred.
Background Preferences:
Experience in business-to-business or business-to-consumer writing, content, and copyediting
Experience and interest in creating and curating quality content across a number of channels including a print publication, e-newsletters, websites, whitepapers, webinars, podcasts, video, blogs and social media
Experience providing creative input to the overall look of a magazine / managing editorial photography
5 + years of successfully leading a team
Comfortable utilizing social media applications for editorial collaboration and marketing
Excellent business acumen
Easy grasp of internal systems used in production and deployment of print and online products
Familiarity with Content Management Systems, InCopy, MS Office Suite
Responsibilities:
Regularly report, write, and post online news and analysis in various formats, including blog posts, articles, videos, research reports, etc.
Writing web-friendly heads, decks, add links, and SEO copy
Attend magazine idea meetings and liaise with team editors to create new content for the website
Write feature articles for the PRINTING United Alliance Media brand titles including Printing Impressions, Packaging Impressions, Wide-Format Impressions, In-plant Impressions, Promo Impressions, Apparelist, and the PRINTING United Journal — for both online and print editions
Recruit speakers for industry events and webinars
Moderate industry webinars
Interview industry thought leaders for video and audio platforms.
Assist in copyediting/proofing pages during production
Work alongside Content Director and Brand Directors to develop and launch new business opportunities.
Network with industry leaders through social media and at industry events to build long-term relationship
Develop content for client-facing content marketing projects, such as sponsored articles, webinars, and white papers
This position calls for an editor who is equally comfortable mixing with advertisers and readers, cooperating closely with sales (as well as independently) to cultivate new advertising relationships and uncover new opportunities
Writing web-friendly heads, decks, add links, and SEO copy
Work with event marketing staff to plan, promote, and market events through community media
Represent brand professionally in meetings, trade shows, and conferences
Serve as a key staff member during the staging of all events, performing duties as required in additional to editorial responsibilities
Travel as needed to appropriate industry events to research/build industry knowledge and foster connections with potential authors and/or sources
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism/communications
3 - 5 years of content creation experience
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Excellent written and face-to-face communications skills
Extreme attention to detail
Good skill level in use of social media
Willingness to travel
Excellent reporting, writing, and editing skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external customers
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook; Adobe — InCopy, InDesign; Wordpress)
Analytical and solution-oriented thinking and ability to work independent
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Ability to generate and develop topic ideas for a variety of media formats
Ability to understand and utilize analytics for content development
Familiarity with AP style
Experience with social media platforms, SEO, CMS, newsletter deployment preferred
Strong interest in developing public speaking competency to moderate panels and conduct interviews for virtual and live events, webinars, videos and podcasts.
Comfortable with using and working with various AI platforms
