Orbus’ recycling initiatives ensure that waste such as cardboard, paper, aluminum, fabric, steel, and other materials are properly recycled. In 2024, Orbus continued to work with wood recycler Jimenez Pallets, Inc., utilizing wood waste to create pallets and mulch, as well as other local recycling partners such as Mid America Paper Recycling, Groot Recycling & Waste, and Elgin Recycling.
Orbus implemented eco-conscious practices such as 100% motion-sensor LED lighting, water dispensers placed throughout its two facilities, and automatic water fixtures. Orbus also ships using UPS® carbon-neutral shipments, has been ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management certified since 2010, and has supported a product rental program (implemented in 2015) designed to limit waste.
Orbus’ commitment to environmental sustainability has extended to its product lines as well. It recently introduced a new Green, 100% PVC-free, woven coated fabric for its line of retractable banner stands. This greener option is phthalate-free, 100% recyclable, and maintains a tight, durable structure that won’t curl and holds up outdoors.
“We are proud of the measures we’ve taken to maintain and evolve our environmental efforts over the years,” says Natalie Whited, Vice President of Marketing. “Diligence in eco-conscious practices and the introduction of recyclable graphic materials support Orbus’ mission towards a more sustainable future.”
