OSHA Starts the New Year with a Double-Barreled Aggressive Enforcement Approach

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced a new aggressive enforcement approach by implementing significant penalty increases through two changes in its enforcement policies that were announced on January 26, 2023. OSHA’s reasoning behind the changes is to make its penalties more effective in stopping employers from repeatedly exposing workers to life-threatening hazards or failing to comply with certain workplace safety and health requirements.
