House Passes Inflation Reduction Act; Biden Set to Launch “Building a Better America” Tour

The US House of Representatives passed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, a far-reaching tax, health and climate bill, on August 12 by a vote of 220-207. The vote margin was strictly party-line. All House Democrats voted in favor of passage and all House Republicans (minus four who did not vote) voted against it, setting up a clear demarcation of partisan policy stances just inside 90 days of the Congressional mid-term elections.
