SEI Laser to Display Packmaster and Mercury Finishing Solutions

Matik announces that SEI Laser will display its True Packmaster and Mercury digital finishing solutions at the K Trade Fair, Hall 4 Stand B22, in Dusseldorf, Germany, October 16-23. Visitors can discover the latest technological innovations introduced for plastic converting while discovering the complete range of laser systems specifically designed for processing, cutting, marking and converting acrylic sheets, plastics and plastic films for flexible packaging.

SEI Laser will highlight the Mercury, the fastest CO2 laser system for acrylic cutting and marking, and Packmaster, the laser system for plastic films cutting, scoring, marking and perforation. The Packmaster will also be integrated, for the first time, with the Bimec slitter rewinder machine.

"According to show management, economic success will increasingly hinge on the successful fusion of the digital world with the worlds of production processes and product development pipelines. This calls for a creative pioneering spirit," says Steve Leibin, President, Matik Inc. "The SEI Laser true digital finishing solution streamlines tool-less workflows, epitomizing the development of this technological fusion."

SEI Laser: Offering a true, streamlined tool-less workflow
True digital finishing uses high-speed laser technology to deliver the most productive finishing solution, eliminating the need for costly tooling or dies and lengthy changeovers.

True digital finishing can deliver a fast and efficient workflow that goes from PDF files directly to printed, cut, counted rolls, or sheets that are ready to ship. The prepress department creates the print file and the die file in one PDF. SEI Laser's Packmaster finishing machines can instantly read a QR code or barcode, read the PDF file and understand job cutting instructions on the fly. Just as digital printing presses can print many different jobs of various run lengths quickly and efficiently, SEI Laser's true digital finishing solutions can cut, finish and complete many different jobs of various run lengths, on demand.

The SEI Mercury laser machine cuts and marks LGP panels for backlit applications
The SEI Mercury, one of the systems in the SEI Laser BLU line, will be featured at K Trade Fair. It is a high-end, fast, flexible cutting and marking machine for a variety of application areas such as plastic and acrylic cutting, signs and POP/POS display cases, backlits and lighting, job shop work and electronics. With over 100 configurations, and capable of processing materials with a working area up to 2,000 by 4,000 millimeters, it can meet an extensive range of customers' requirements. Because of its fixed work table and table extension, dual tables for loading/unloading, and ability to connect to a conveyor, it is suitable for any production site. It is the perfect tool for manufacturers working in lighting, interior design and visual communication as well as LED road traffic signs, technical lighting for automotive, security and avionics, and the manufacture of TV monitors, LED and maxi screens.

SEI Packmaster laser system for flexible packaging
The Packmaster line of innovative laser systems meets the needs of converters of flexible packaging with easy opening, windows and micro/macro perforation to guarantee breathability and the ability to offer microwave cooking. Its cutting-edge line of laser systems can be integrated into any existing production line and can process different kinds of materials such as PE, PET, PP, nylon, PTFE, laminated film and paper — always at high productivity. It will be seen at the K Trade Fair integrated with the Bimec machine, capable of slitting plastic films, paper and laminates, and all materials used for flexible packaging.

SEI Laser systems can be integrated into automated digitally controlled production processes and are in compliance with the Industry 4.0 certification.

Matik and SEI Laser invite attendees to stop by Hall 4 Stand B22. Every day there will be unique live demonstrations that will offer visitors the opportunity to see SEI Laser machines process different kind of materials, including acrylic, paper and plastic films.
