Film File Clerk

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining a continuous film file of negatives and/or positives by customer or job number and checking films for accuracy, completeness, and quality before sending them to production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep job number file.
  • Receive gang-run layouts and remove positives according to individual jobs.
  • Make files for new customers or accounts.
  • Reads instructions written on orders, and examines contents of film orders.
  • Check with supervisor on any damaged films or missing units.
  • File films with printed job samples according to company policy.
  • Locate and reassemble positives as requested by layout stripper or stencil personnel.
  • Maintain film files in neat and orderly manner.
  • Maintain records as required.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Carries out conduct and leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to management, outside resources, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Some independent travel may be required.
