Middleton Group Upgrades Offerings with Two Onset Presses from FUJIFILM
Jun 5, 2018
Hanover Park, Illinois – Middleton Group Inc. doubles-down with two high productivity Onset presses, to manage increased volumes at its facility in Markham, Ontario, Canada.
Since 1952, Middleton Group Inc. has been known for merchandising, design, and unique print innovations. The most recent addition to its line-up is the Onset X3 wide format UV flatbed inkjet printer, equipped with three-quarter automation that includes a feed table and robotic arm take-off. Middleton Group Inc. also upgraded its existing Onset LT to a full-build Onset with White, allowing for 50 percent increased output.
“We create a great amount of point of purchase displays for our clients, including food and beverage and toy companies in Canada,” said Craig Riethmacher, chief operating officer, Middleton Group Inc. “The speed and quality on the Onset X3 are amazing.”
“A lot of four by eight boards and a tremendous amount of corrugated jobs go to the Onset X3,” adds Riethmacher. “The most remarkable aspect is the speed. We are producing upwards of 200 boards an hour, and able to turn jobs very quickly. We can sell larger runs to our clients for a reasonable price that are comparable to screen printing or offset.”
With a maximum throughput of nearly 10,000 square feet per hour, the Onset X3 is ideal for companies such as Middleton Group Inc., producing fast-turnaround retail POP graphics. A choice of unidirectional, bi-directional, high speed and super high-quality print modes can be selected depending on the specific job requirements.
Riethmacher looked at other high capacity wide format inkjet presses, and with regard to the success he had with the original Onset LT, that was ‘a strong selling point,’ and he knew selecting another Onset was the best fiscal decision.
“The three-quarter automation with the Onset X3 is amazing, and allows us to utilize the full capabilities of the press. We are running two shifts, seven days a week, on both of the Onset presses,” says Riethmacher.
The Inca Onset series of high productivity wide format inkjet presses are distributed exclusively in North America by FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division (SGIA Expo Booth 1119).
