EPA Public Meeting - Industry Consultation on Fees Related to TSCA Reform Legislation

In August, SGIA attended an EPA-led public meeting for industry consultation on fees associated with the TSCA reform legislation signed into law by President Obama in July 2016.   Provisions in the amended language provide EPA with the authority to collect fees to help carry out the chemical risk evaluation and prioritization processes. During the meeting, EPA discussed the sections to be covered by fees and elements that will be taken into consideration in establishing fees. Many organizations requested further details regarding the use of appropriated funds versus collected fees to offset program developments as required by the TSCA legislation.  SGIA will continue to monitor all developments related to the implementation of the TSCA reform legislation.  Sign up to receive the most up-to-date regulatory and legislative information on issues impacting your business.
