Fairfax, Virginia — Empire Screen Printing, Inc., SGIA member since 1987, was recognized on July 21, 2016 by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as a Green Tier Participant. This year marks the third year in a row that Empire Screen Printing has participated in Green Tier — and support from SGIA helped them achieve their goals.

The Green Tier program recognizes companies like Empire Screen Printing who seek to advance their business while simultaneously reducing their environmental footprint. Successful participants are awarded public recognition of participation, a single point of contact at DNR and the use of the Green Tier logo in marketing materials.

“We have used the SGIA Sustainability Recognition Award Program as a goal motivator for our Green Committee and employees,” said Amy Bettis, HR Training and Development Coordinator, Empire Screen Printing, Inc. “It’s something tangible to which employees can attribute progress, and it is also an affirmation to our customers and suppliers that Empire is committed to being a socially and environmentally responsible company.”

The SGIA Sustainability Recognition Award Program was designed to encourage adoption of sustainable business practices by the SGIA membership. The primary objective of this program is to recognize those members who have successfully embarked on this journey.
