TSCA Legislative Update!

US Senate and House negotiators have reached a bipartisan agreement reconciling the bills passed by each chamber last year to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The full text of the compromised legislation is yet to be released. But the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee circulated a report detailing what is contained in the “final, comprehensive solution to modernize TSCA”, which it says “will achieve a more predictable and uniform federal regulatory program”.  on May 24th , the US House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed  passed the reform legislation, H.R. 2576 by a vote of 403-12. It is expected that the US Senate will be considering the reform agreement in June.
