Garment decoration has been around for thousands of years, starting with methods like hand staining (with natural dyes) to screen printing with water-based pigment inks, as well as a wide array of sewn-on applique methods that continue to be used to this day. All of these decoration processes have changed very little over time — that is, until heat-transfer printing was introduced as another viable decoration option.
