Controlling Synthetic Dye Migration and Sublimation

This is a topic that I originally addressed in 1995 in regards to advancements in products and printing techniques that had advanced the textile screen printer’s ability to combat the effects of polyester dye migration and sublimation. One advantage of the past was the garment manufacturers’ desire to control the quality of polyester fabric dyes and procedures used in the production of their fabrics. Since that time, retailers’ demand for lower-cost apparel from manufacturers has driven the production of fabrics in the most inexpensive means.
