Inside the Smithsonian Museum, along with a sundry of catalogued treasures and time-stamped items of historical signicance on display in Washington, DC, hangs one of the oldest known printed T-shirts on record. “Dew it with Dewey” it reads, a clever political slogan printed on T-shirts throughout Thomas E. Dewey’s time on the 1948 campaign trail, meant to rile up support for the governor of New York during his presidential run.
