The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) became law well over 5 years ago, and was designed to allow the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) better regulation power over the safety of products made in, and imported for sale in the US. CPSIA contains regulations intended to make children’s products safer by requiring manufacturers and importers to prove these products do not have prohibited levels of lead and phthalates.
