A Permit to Operate may be required to operate any article, machine ,equipment or other contrivance which causes or may cause the issuance of an air contaminant.
The District can exempt sources that have not been deemed a nuisance or potential nuisance emit less than 1000 pounds per year of any one criteria pollutant or precursor or emit less than 2000 pounds of any combination thereof as determined by the APCO. Criteria pollutants include VOCs as well as hazardous air pollutants.
