The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) is pleased to announce the new TAGA Social Media Ambassador program! This program is a way to get students involved with TAGA by agreeing to donate their voice. They share our mission and their personal connection to our organization on all social media channels, so please be sure to follow along!

The TAGA Ambassadors come from across North America, representing Ryerson University, Clemson University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Ball State University, Western Michigan University, and Appalachian State University!

Sabrina Alaimo from Ryerson University is anxious to get her start in the graphic communications industry. She finds value in being a TAGA student member because of the extensive opportunities such as networking with fellow students and industry professionals.

What school do you attend, and what are you currently studying?

I attend Ryerson University in Toronto where I'm studying Graphic Communications Management, with a major in Publishing and a double minor in Public Relations and Marketing

What makes your major unique? What do you like most about your choice of major?

What I love most about my major is how we get to learn about all aspects of the printing industry. We get to learn about both the technical side as well as the business side of the industry. The program also emphasizes the importance of getting involved. Many classes include attending industry events and going to conferences or plant tours. My program also has a mandatory internship program that pushes us to interact with industry professionals before graduation. Upon graduating we are equipped with not only the knowledge but also the hands-on experience to pursue a career in the graphic arts!

What do you like about being involved with TAGA and the student chapter?

What I like about being involved with TAGA and the student chapter is how much I have gotten to learn from my peers, professors, and other industry professionals. Being involved with TAGA I have gotten not only the opportunity to learn, but have along the way met new people and become more involved in the industry! I'm excited to see everyone's final journal at the conference!

When you aren't studying, in class, or working, what are you doing?

If not studying or working, you will usually find me outdoors or hanging out with my family and friends.

What city are you currently living in? What do you like most about it (favorite spots)?

I currently live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I love the hustle and bustle of being in the city! There is also always something going on, between basket ball games, pop-up shops, or group activities, you will always find something fun to do!

What would your future dream job entail?

My future dream job would be to work for a magazine publication company or at any media company in their branding, marketing, or creative department. I hope to be in a job where I get to travel, meet new people, and always be working on different and exciting projects!

What do you envision yourself doing 5 years from now?

In 5 years I envision myself having more experience in my field, meeting new people, and hopefully contributing to the future of the graphic arts industry! I also envision myself in a higher-level position or at least in the process of excelling to one!
