PINE offers year-round education, training programs and webinars in professional development for all facets of the printing and graphic communications industries including sales and marketing, social media, human resources, succession planning, and best business practices to name a few.
The Education Department works closely with technical and vocational high schools and regional college programs to keep faculty and students aware of the association's programs and services and of the career opportunities available in the printing and graphic arts industries. The association also has a close working relationship with Graphic Communications Scholarship Fund of New England (GCSFNE), which offers annual scholarships.
PINE's Government Affairs Department monitors legislation in five state capitals of the association's service area. The department coordinates ongoing grass roots efforts to keep members apprised of legislation that affects the printing and graphic communications industry.
The Environmental Affairs Department works in conjunction with Government Affairs to monitor regulatory activity from New England state and federal government levels. The Department works closely with members to comply with all state and federal environmental and safety regulations. PINE membership includes an annual plant visit to assist with compliance. PINE offers OSHA safety training and train-the-trainer programs and works closely with state environmental agencies to develop mutually beneficial working relationships.
The association hosts an annual three-day print management conference in a New England resort for printing industry leaders and their guests to come together to learn more about the issues facing the industry, network and enjoy leisurely activities such as a golf tournament, entertainment and scenic trips. PINE hosts a separate annual golf tournament, print competition and Industry Awards Gala and is growing other social gatherings.
PINE owns a full service insurance agency and provides credit and collection services. PINE publishes a regional trade publication, Connections, and produces and distributes a biannual Print Buyers Guide. The association provides information and assistance in labor relations, technology consulting, general business issues and succession planning.
