Bindery Trainee's Workbook

The Printing Industries of America Bindery Training Curriculum provides a foundation of understanding of basic binding and finishing principles, products, and operating procedures that are essential for new bindery employees. With convenience in mind, a ready-to-use curriculum package has been created that contains everything needed to conduct an introductory binding and finishing course at a school or printing facility.

To make the program engaging and effective, the subject matter is organized in a modular format that couples classroom lessons with hands-on activities to engage students and encourage learning. The Bindery Trainee's Workbook provides plenty of worksheets and checklists to practice concepts and use for quick reference.

About the Author: Daniel G. Wilson, Doctor of Industrial Technology, is associate professor of printing management at Illinois State University. He has taught in higher education for more than fifteen years, including most recently at Penn State’s Pennsylvania College of Technology. Wilson has also worked in the printing industry as a lithographic press operator and technical trainer. While working for Baker Perkins, Inc., he developed training for web offset press operators.
