Profit leaders (those firms in the top 25 percentile of profitability) typically earn 10 to 20 times as much profit per dollar of sales as profit challengers (the other 75 percent of printers). About Your Instructor:
Ronnie H. Davis, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Economist, PIA/GATF. He has served Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation since 1988. His responsibilities include strategic, business, management and employment policy research, economic analysis and forecasting, market research, international business issues, and the association’s futures studies program. Davis is also the 2005 recipient of the Neil Richards Visionary Leadership Award for applying innovative, futuristic thinking to the graphic arts industry. He holds a Ph.D. in economics with a specialization in industrial organization from the University of Pittsburgh. He has served as a Professor of Management at the Graduate School of Management and Technology at the University of Maryland and has also taught economics and business management at Georgetown University, Mary Washington College ,and is currently on the faculty of the National Capital Graduate Center of Florida Institute of Technology.
