Put Ink on Paper - Election 2010

Election Day is November 2, 2010. It’s critical that printing and graphic communications professionals go to the polls and vote for pro-print, pro-business candidates for U.S. Congress.

The printing and graphic communications industry is more than 900,000 people strong. The higher the voter participation rate among the industry, the stronger impact we can make together to secure a pro-print, pro-business outlook on Capitol Hill.

Printing Industries of America is pleased to provide the voter education tools below to help the industry learn more about the candidates, voting requirements, and more. Be sure to share this site with colleagues, friends, and neighbors; every vote counts. Be sure to “Put Ink on Paper” and make your vote count on November 2!

“Put Ink on Paper” Voter Education Toolkit

  • Voter registration for the general election is still open in many states. Use this tool to view your state’s deadlines and requirements, register to vote online (in states where allowed), and/or learn what steps you need to take to register to vote at the polls.

Find Your Candidates

  • Use this tool to quickly locate which federal and state candidates are running in your state and district. View profiles and financial endorsements and access links to each candidate’s campaign sites in order to compare and contrast the positions of those seeking your vote.

Check Out Early & Absentee Voting

  • More and more states are allowing “early voting.” This differs from “absentee voting” in that early voting (including vote by mail) is often allowed for the sake of convenience and does not require verification that a voter will be absent from his or her state or district on Election Day. Click on your state and scroll down to view what early voting opportunities may be available to you. For those who are unable to vote early and will be unable to visit the polls in person on Election Day, use this tool to view the absentee ballot procedure for your state.

Plan Your Election Day Trip to the Polls

  • If you’re voting in person on November 2, be sure to know the location and operating times of the polling place in your locality. Use this tool to easily determine where and when you can cast your vote in person. Simply click on your state, scroll down to “Find Your Polling Place” link, and follow the prompts provided.

Encourage Others to “Put Ink on Paper” on Election Day.

  • Help “get out the vote” by displaying your “Put Ink on Paper” websticker on your company’s website or your “Put Ink on Paper” bumper sticker on your vehicle. (A limited number of FREE bumper stickers are available at no cost through October 25—one per individual. A bumper sticker will be mailed to the address you provide. To request a bumber sticker, please email: govtaffairs@printing.org and enter “Bumper Sticker” in the subject line—be sure to include your name and mailing address. Please be advised that quantities are limited.)
