Print Market Update

Overview of Fourth Quarter 2013

Since 2000 Printing Industries of America’s Economic and Market Research team has conducted a quarterly survey to track changes in the printing industry. Starting this quarter we will no longer conduct quarterly surveys. We will continue to publish quarterly trends based on data collected from various government and private sources. The overview below and the full report on the archives page are based on secondary data. We are currently collecting primary data to determine current industry conditions and strategic management practices in our 2014 Strategic Management Survey. Go to www.printing.org/surveys to participate in this survey.

This quarter we analyze data from a variety of sources to develop a picture of the state of the printing industry. The main sources of our data come from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), U.S. Census Bureau, The Federal Reserve, The National Association of Business Economics (NABE), and the Institute of Supply Management (ISM). Members can access the full report at the Print Market Update Archive page. Non-members can purchase the report in our online bookstore.
