The Printing Industries of America offers a range of conferences throughout the year.

President’s Conference
February 28–March 4, 2010
Scottsdale, Arizona
Printing Industries of America’s annual Presidents Conference gives presidents, CEOs, and owners a program filled with education geared toward their leadership challenges. The conference addresses vital content such as human resource issues, new service opportunities, communicating the value of print, methods for removing cost from the operation, sales strategies, and leadership tools and techniques. This event is a great place to network and collaborate with fellow leaders and meet other industry experts.

TAGA Conference
March 14–17, 2010
San Diego, California
Organized in 1948, the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) is the only global professional association for the graphic arts industries. TAGA serves the chief technology officer, chief information officer, and research & development manager at printers, publishers, and premedia companies, as well as engineers and scientists employed by graphic arts equipment manufacturers and software suppliers. TAGA’s annual technical conference is the only international conference for the graphic arts that features technical papers on research right out of the laboratory, studies from the pressroom, and software and systems engineering papers. For individuals whose responsibilities include staying on top of graphic arts technology in order to plan future company direction, then TAGA’s annual conference should be the number one education priority!

NEHS Conference
March 15–17, 2010
Indianapolis, Indiana
The National Environmental Health & Safety (NEHS) Conference: Printing for a Sustainable Future is presented in partnership by Printing Industries of America, SGIA, FTA, and NAPIM. The NEHS Conference provides guidance for printers that want to be recognized for their sustainability initiatives; learn best practices to create a safe, cost-effective, and employee-friendly work environment; stay in compliance with evolving regulations; and deal with pressing human resources issues. This is the only conference that addresses these issues for the printing industry across all platforms.

Continuous Improvement Conference
April 18–21, 2010
Tampa, Florida
Printing Industries of America’s Continuous Improvement Conference focuses on the use of quality concepts, philosophies, and tools to reduce costs and increase excellence in print manufacturing and customer satisfaction. The conference stresses practical ways to cut wasted money and time, including the application of Lean manufacturing principles and tools (such as 5S, standard work, and quick changeover) to the printing industry. It is ideal for presidents, plant managers, vice presidents of operations, and quality managers—anybody playing a vital role in their company’s quality efforts. The heart of the event is case studies taught by some of the most progressive and successful companies in and out of the printing industry.

Offset & Beyond

Offset & Beyond is specifically designed to help larger printing companies improve their performance in leadership, operations, and production. Few conferences are as comprehensive in nature, with sessions on business opportunities and trends, emerging technology, production practices, digital printing, sales approaches, marketing strategies, and financial tools.

GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher’s Update
July 12–16, 2010
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The Teacher’s Update will provide attendees with an understanding of new technologies for education, training, and retraining needs of tomorrow’s workforce. This one-week program includes both laboratory and classroom sessions in Printing Industries of America’s production facility, which showcases the latest equipment and cutting-edge technology. This workshop is free to twenty educators, and the grant covers hotel and some meals.

GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher’s Conference
October 2–4, 2010 (in conjunction with GRAPH EXPO®)
Chicago, Illinois
This conference is administered through Printing Industries of America with funding made possible by the Graphic Arts Show Company. This conference is free to all graphic arts educators from high school to college level. Travel grants are available to cover a portion of the cost of attendance. The 2010 GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher’s Conference will provide an opportunity for graphic arts teachers to learn about current industry trends and see the latest equipment and supplies.

Converge Conference
November 7–9, 2010
Memphis, Tennessee
Printing Industries of America’s Converge Conference: Next Generation of Print and Communication Services helps graphic communication companies of all levels develop a sustainable business model and the associated marketing, sales, and technology strategies and tactics. Progressive printing companies are adding new services, changing their names, and rebranding. The result is a new breed of company integrating the components of conventional print, digital reproduction, web technology, mailing services, personalized cross-media campaigns, and more. Color Management Conference
