Printing Executive Network (PEN) Groups

You’re Not Alone!
Every day presidents of member companies of Printing Industries of America encounter unplanned situations and must make a myriad of decisions. Having a group of peers to contact who are willing to meet to exchange ideas, problems, and solutions is the principle underlying the Printing Executive Network (PEN) Groups.

The Mission

The Printing Executive Network (PEN) was established by Printing Industries of America to promote educational growth with sound business management practices and theories through small, permanent networking groups.

How PEN Works

PEN groups normally meet on a quarterly basis. Each group consists of six to twelve non-competing printing company presidents. These groups are similar in size, sales volume, process, and product. Each group draws from all over the United States and Canada. Member companies alternate being host—normally decided through a poll of the group. Each member of a group is a decision-maker for their company and has made a permanent commitment to enhance their personal and professional productivity.

How Does One Become a PEN Member?

Applications are accumulated at Printing Industries of America’s Educational Services Office. These names are sent to any established group requesting new members. Sometimes interested printing executives prefer to begin a new group rather than joining an established one. These executives will often volunteer to host the first meeting.

No Placement Fees

While there is no cost for placement in self-managed PEN Groups, applicants should keep in mind the travel expenses they will incur for meeting quarterly.
