The following samples have been used by Printing Industries of America members across the country. The reader is advised to have legal counsel review any language before use to ensure proper legal compliance. These sample are not intended to provide legal advice but only to show how email disclaimers and notices can be used.

Sample #1:

This message is for the named person's use only.  It may contain confidential, proprietary or legally privileged information.  No confidentiality or privilege is waived or lost by any mis-transmission.  If you receive this message in error, please immediately delete it and all copies of it from your system, destroy any hard copies of it and notify the sender.  You must not, directly or indirectly, use, disclose, distribute, print, or copy any part of this message if you are not the intended recipient. (The Company) and any of its subsidiaries each reserve the right to monitor all e-mail communications through its networks.

Sample #2:

CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE:  If you have received this email in error, please immediately notify the sender by e-mail at the address shown.  This e-mail transmission may contain confidential information.  This information is intended only for the use of the individual(s) or entity to whom it is intended even if addressed incorrectly.  Please delete it from your files if you are not the intended recipient.  Thank you for your compliance.

Sample #3

The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential, proprietary, and/or privileged material. Any review, retransmission, dissemination or other use of, or taking of any action in reliance upon this information by persons or entities other than the intended recipient is prohibited. If you received this in error, please contact the sender and delete the material from all computers.
