Printing Industries of America, which formed in 1887, is pleased to announce that 2012 marks its 125th anniversary as an association. To help celebrate this milestone, a new logo and webpage have been created. The webpage will highlight not only the history of the organization but also the future of print and Printing Industries. Video and audio pieces featuring industry experts will be developed to capture their view of print’s past and its future. Celebrations will take place throughout the year, including one at Printing Industries of America’s booth at GRAPH EXPO 2012.

Printing Industries of America is proud to announce that the 2012 Binding Industries Association (BIA) Annual Conference will be taking place June 4–6, 2012, in St. Louis, Missouri. This signature conference is designed to bring together management from trade binderies, graphic finishing, information packaging, custom loose-leaf manufacturing, and the suppliers to those industries. This conference will provide companies with the resources, tools, and insight they need to succeed in the future.

The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA), the organization created from the merger between the Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association and the Printing Industries of Wisconsin, recently installed a new Board of Directors to equitably represent members in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. The following individuals will serve on GLGA’s Board of Directors through the end of 2012:

The Lewis Award pays homage to business leaders who have gone far beyond standard obligations to become a significant force in shaping the business of printed communications; Marcian has been a leader in the industry and has a list of accomplishments that honor the spirit of the Lewis Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award.

Printing Industries of America’s 2012 Employee Recognition Calendar serves as a reference for Human Resources personnel, identifying various positions to celebrate throughout the year. Eight industry leaders were formally inducted into the Ben Franklin Honor Society of Printing Industries of America at a black-tie induction and awards ceremony held November 11, 2011, at Printing Industries’ Fall Administrative Meetings held in Miami Beach, Florida.
