2009 BIA Mid-Management Conference Delivers Superior Networking and Value

June 18, 2009, Pittsburgh, PA—The Binding Industries Association (BIA), a special interest group of Printing Industries of America, reported a strong turnout for its 2009 Mid-Management Conference.

Attendees from all over the world representing trade binderies, graphic finishing, information packaging, and custom loose-leaf manufacturing experienced one-of-a-kind networking with highly informative educational sessions at the BIA Mid-Management Conference.

Top industry suppliers were also on hand to answer questions and contribute to the session discussions. Participants were highly rewarded with industry information and best practices that could be immediately implemented at their companies.

“The conference was very informative. It was interesting to hear about how everyone runs their businesses a little differently but are focused on the same goals. I really enjoyed the open dialog that took place at sessions and all the speakers,” said Mike Seidl, Seidl’s Bindery. “Everyone was very eager to learn ways of improving the way their companies ran and getting ideas about manufacturing, which we accomplished through the dialogs and speakers.”

Sessions on Lean manufacturing and productivity were heavily attended, as well as a customer panel of companies who buy graphic finishing and custom-looseleaf products.

The BIA also honored one of its founding fathers Bill Eckhart, Eckhart & Co, for his accomplishments which have advanced the industry and the association.

The BIA announced dates for the next Mid-Management Conference, which will take place May 17–19, 2010.
