Printing Industries of America Supports D.C. Educational Outreach
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, November 29, 2012—Printing Industries of America is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Consortium of Catholic Academies (CCA), a non-profit organization supporting Catholic elementary schools in Washington, D.C.
Recently, members of Printing Industries of America attended the Boehner-Lieberman-Williams 9th Annual Dinner supporting CCA. The fundraiser helps fund critical needs of the Consortium, such as tuition assistance, curriculum materials, and building maintenance. The association’s in-kind donation of more than $10,000 will go toward purchasing children’s reading titles such as Lord of the Flies, Diary of Anne Frank, and the past decade of award-winning Caldecott picture books.
“We are honored to support such a worthy cause. The CCA’s work to ensure access to quality education for students, regardless of their backgrounds, is vital to the local D.C. community,” said Lisbeth Lyons, Vice President, Government Affairs, of Printing Industries of America.
The annual dinner was first held in 2003 when Speaker Boehner (R-OH) joined the late Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) to headline a fundraiser benefitting the CCA. Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) joined in 2010 to co-host the annual event. Senator Lieberman commented, “It has been in honor to join this event which raises funds to help deserving young children get a better education and a better future. In my view a quality education is a civil right, and CCA is helping disadvantaged students get a quality education.”
Printing Industries of America looks forward to sponsoring the event, now entering its tenth year, in the future. The support for local students by this organization is unmatched, and Printing Industries of America is proud to partner with the CCA.
