About TAGA
Organized in 1948, the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts ( TAGA ) is the only global professional association for the graphic arts industries. TAGA serves the CTO, CIO, and R&D management personnel of printers, publishers, and pre-media companies, as well as engineers and scientists employed by graphic arts systems and equipment manufacturers. TAGA focuses not only on graphic arts systems, software, and computer technology developments, but on the more traditional areas of press, ink, and paper engineering applications as well. In addition, the association provides guidance and support to its fifteen student chapters around the world. For information on membership and benefits, please visit www.taga.org.

Who Should Attend
TAGA ’s annual technical conference is the only international conference for the graphic arts that features technical papers on research straight from the laboratory, studies from the pressroom, and software and systems engineering papers. If your responsibilities include staying on top of graphic arts technology in order to help direct your company’s future, strategically or tactically, then TAGA ’s Annual Technical Conference should be your top educational priority each and every year!

TAGA ’s agenda delivers value to pressroom management, paper and ink specialists, prepress, micro technology, graphic arts educators, and research and development. If you are a CTO, CIO, or R&D manager of a printing company, pressroom equipment manufacturer, front-end systems, publisher, as well as manufacturers of ink, paper, and other consumables, this is a conference you do not want to miss.

Hotel Reservations
TAGA has made arrangements with the hotel for a block of rooms for conference attendees at a discounted rate of U.S. $183 plus 12.5% tax. Please associate yourself with the room block of the Technical Association of Graphic Arts or TAGA to receive this discounted rate. Make your reservations by February 18, 2010 to ensure this discounted rate. After this date the hotel will accept reservations on a space and rate available basis. Please call the hotel directly to make your reservations at 619-544-1886 or 1-800-542-1886. If you have any problems making a reservation with the hotel, please email Gwen Martin at gmartin@printing.org and she will facilitate your reservation.

Official Conference Hotel
Staying at the official conference hotel helps TAGA to offset costs of the meeting. We hope that a $125 savings for attendees who stay in the conference hotel will provide an added incentive as well as convenience to do so. There are sizable expenses to the organization that must be covered. Attendees who stay in other hotels in San Diego do not help offset these expenses. Additionally, low guest room usage at our contracted hotel increases TAGA ’s exposure to financial penalties.

Attire
Average temperatures in March are highs of 66°F (19°C) and lows of 19°F (10°C). We recommend business casual attire for the technical sessions. Please bring a jacket and sweater as evenings may be cool and meeting rooms tend to be chilly. Business dress (semi-formal) is recommended for the Awards Banquet.

Cancellation Policy for the Conference
Cancellations received on or before March 1, 2010 will be assessed a $75 processing fee. Refund requests received on or after March 2, 2010 cannot be granted, but substitutions are welcome at any time. Fax to 412-741-2311. TAGA is not responsible for refunds as a result of weather delays or disturbances in the travel industry.
